AMP Flexible Super’s superannuation and retirement accounts have been awarded five star ratings in the recent CANSTAR ratings for the third year in a row.

Australian Ethical has gained approval for its MySuper option. Australian Ethical will use their existing default Balanced option for MySuper.

The AFA and TAL have announced the finalists in the 2013 AFA Female Excellence in Advice Award. The Award finalists are:

James Wincott has joined Tyndall AM as head of risk & compliance, reporting to Mike Davis, managing director of Tyndall AM.

Hideo Abe has been appointed executive vice chairman of Nikko AM, a related entity of Tyndall AM. Abe will help enhance the company’s executive-level marketing capability to reach a wider range of institutional and retail investors in both the Japanese domestic market and overseas.

Australian Unity Investments (AUI) has made several promotions, including the creation of new positions. AUI has created three Key Account Manager roles, promoting Theone Star, Huw O’Grady and Allyce Mitchell to the positions.  As a result of these changes, Nick Everitt has been promoted to business development manager VIC/SA/WA.

Equity Trustees Limited has appointed Michael Kordick and Thi Doan as investment analysts within its Australian equities team, reporting to chief investment officer George Boubouras and head of equities Dr Paul Kasian.

Market Vectors ETFs has revealed it will shortly launch four new ETFs on the Australian Securities Exchange. The four new Australian ETFs are designed to track purpose-built pure-play indices specifically developed for Australian investors by Market Vectors Index Solutions, the index company of Van Eck Global.

Sundaram Business Services was awarded Recognised Knowledge Partner status following a review of its professional development systems and policies by CPA Australia. The evaluation considered various factors including mentoring support, training plans, structured performance appraisals and development programs.
