Top ETF manager boosts team

A top ETF manager has announced a new addition to its management team.

BetaShares has announced the appointment of Tanya Smyth as its national manager of adviser services. Smyth previously held senior equity derivative distribution roles with Commonwealth Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland and ABN AMRO. The move follows BetaShares' recent appointments of Thomas Reif as head of quantitative research and Portfolio Manager; Matthew Reeves as compliance manager; Sarah Hare as BetaShares’ marketing manager; David Whitby as account manager, and the promotion of Louis Crous to Chief Investment Officer.

“The ETF market in Australia increased by $1.3bn in total funds under management last month, the strongest monthly growth that’s been recorded to the date,” BetaShares managing director Alex Vynokur said.

“This newly created role has been designed both in response to the fast growth of the ETF industry and to deepen the company’s commitment to support Australian financial advisers through ETF education and client service."
