AMP has appointed Natasha Fenech as managing director of its SMSF business, starting in February.
Fenech is in a newly created role to lead the AMP SMSF business unit and will report to AMP chief customer officer Paul Sainsbury, who will continue to have portfolio responsibility for the unit.
She is currently on maternity leave from Suncorp, where she is executive general manager for personal insurance customer, product and pricing.
The new appointment is important for the overall growth of AMP’s SMSF capabilities, Sainsbury said
“We are delighted to have someone of Natasha’s calibre on board. Her leadership and business experience will be invaluable during a period of growth and development for AMP SMSF.”
Fenech has been with Suncorp for seven years in a number of senior roles across personal and commercial insurance.
Prior to Suncorp, she held a number of financial services roles including heading Corporate Planning and Analysis at Citigroup, and actuarial positions at Zurich Financial Services and Royal & SunAlliance (now Asteron Life).
Fenech has a Bachelor of Economics and Bachelor of Mathematics from the University of Adelaide and a Masters in Business Administration from the Australian Graduate School of Management.
She is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Associate Member of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia.
AMP is Australia's leader in specialist SMSF administration, based on market share and excluding accountants and self-administered funds.
