Australian exchange traded funds provider BetaShares has appointed a new adviser services director, to align the ETF industry more efficiently with financial advisers.
Lyndall James will be responsible for leading relationships with financial advisers, a sector which presents a significant growth opportunity for the ETF industry as FOFA reforms are implemented, the company said.
James has more than two decades experience in financial services, having worked in senior distribution roles at van Eyk, OnePath and MLC.
Her appointment into the newly created role further cemented BetaShares’ focus on the increasingly important adviser space, BetaShares managing director Alex Vynokur said.
“As exchange traded products continue to gain acceptance in adviser practices, it’s important we continue building strong and lasting relationships with advisers in order to continue to deliver value for them and their clients.
“Lyndall has an excellent track record managing relationships and an in-depth knowledge of the Australian investment landscape. We are excited to welcome her to the business, and I’m confident her wealth of experience in the industry will prove valuable as we continue to invest in the ETF education process.”
The ETF industry and BetaShares has experienced strong growth this year, said Vynokur.
“A substantial part of this growth has been due to increasing adoption of our products by dealer groups and adviser practices. To respond to this, we are increasing our focus on this important target market, including the creation of this new role.”
