Networking made easy for advisers

The SMSF Professionals’ Association will launch a new online networking tool at its annual national conference in Brisbane in February.

The digital technology will help delegates to network at the conference, held from 19 to 21 February, by matching interests and requesting catch-up meetings.

The conference is not just about updating advisers’ technical expertise.

“Along with the technical content, networking opportunities are the other key benefit of attending the conference, and the organisation aims to make this as easy and rewarding as possible,”  SPAA technical and professional standards director Graeme Colley said.

“Delegates can plan and control their conference schedule – and export it to their normal work calendar if desired – view profiles of other delegates, speakers and sponsors, use an interactive exhibition floor map, and  post discussions for other delegates to participate in.”

The tool is a new feature of the spaa.mobi mobile web app and is exclusively available to registered delegates.

Colley said SPAA is aiming have a strong social media presence at the conference.

“Last year hashtag ‘#SPAA’ trended in second spot nationally on twitter on day one of the conference, and this year we have top spot in our sights.”

The 10th annual conference will feature sessions by spokespeople from the Federal Government and Opposition, as well as the regulators.

But time was running out to register, Colley said.

“With sponsorship completely sold out, and delegate numbers nearing capacity, we are urging anyone interested in attending to finalise their registrations or risk missing out.”
